About Women, Science & Society
Women, Science & Society is an independent educational publication focused on women’s sexual health, wellbeing, psychology, relationships, and the science that connects them.
Our goal is to make complex research easier to understand without reducing women’s experiences to a single hormone, diagnosis, life stage, or social factor. We approach sexual wellbeing as a combination of biology, psychology, health, relationships, culture, environment, and individual experience.
Our Editorial Approach
Our articles are created for educational purposes and are designed to reflect current evidence as accurately and responsibly as possible.
When covering health and science topics, we aim to:
- Use reputable medical, scientific, and academic sources.
- Distinguish established evidence from emerging or uncertain research.
- Avoid presenting association as causation.
- Avoid universal claims about women’s bodies, desire, arousal, or sexual response.
- Explain uncertainty and individual variation when the evidence requires it.
- Update or correct content when better evidence becomes available.
Sources may include peer-reviewed research, systematic reviews, professional medical organizations, government health agencies, major universities, and recognized evidence-based institutions.
Health Information and Medical Review
Women, Science & Society provides general educational information. It does not provide personal medical diagnosis, treatment, or individualized medical advice.
Not every article on this website has been reviewed by a clinician. We do not describe content as “medically reviewed” unless a qualified reviewer has actually reviewed that specific material.
Readers with symptoms, concerns, medication questions, or decisions about treatment should consult an appropriately qualified healthcare professional.
Independence and Transparency
Editorial content is developed independently from advertising or commercial relationships.
Women, Science & Society may feature or link to books, educational resources, or products associated with the publication or its editorial team. When a commercial relationship or promotional connection is relevant to the content, we aim to disclose it clearly so readers can distinguish editorial information from promotion.
Corrections and Updates
Science changes, and responsible health publishing should change with it. We may revise articles when new evidence becomes available, when a factual error is identified, or when additional context would improve accuracy.
Significant corrections should be reflected transparently rather than silently changing the meaning of an article.
Who We Are
Women, Science & Society is managed by an independent editorial team committed to evidence-led health education and clear communication.
We are currently strengthening our contributor and expert-review network. We do not invent author credentials, clinical reviewers, or professional affiliations.
